The first period

The first National game "Stock exchange" the non-commercial project aimed to attract an interest to the share market came to an end. The game had been conducted for 8 weeks and aroused interest of community.

More than 10 000 people were registered as participants. Site www.sharegame.kz fixed more than 300 000 visits in a day, and the official Internet-forum of the game ("Tsentr tyazhesti") has more than two hundred pages with opinions, emotions and discussions of participants.

Structure of players approved the national status of the project - there were pupils, students, officials, pensioners and people with various specialties and from all over the country.

The game attracted many citizens of Kazakhstan who live abroad. Student league was presented by 70 teams from 10 cities of Kazakhstan. Let us remind that within the limits of the project int participants had been given the chance to trade virtually by shares of the companies which are listed at London Stock Exchange and also by shares of 9 Kazakhstan companies which are not listed officially. The result is that companies of raw branch were the most popular because of high prices of energy sources in June-July of 2008. Securities of IT and telecommunication companies were in good demand. Less attention was given to the companies occupied in the transport sphere.

In the framework of the game Academy of RFCA jointly with organizer-companies conducted 15 seminars for individual investors and companies interested in entering the share market. Special sections with educational information, news, analytics, and latest studies were opened on sites of organizers.

The project became one of the main informational themes of the summer - as of today more than 250 articles were published in central and regional mass media, TV channels broadcasted approximately 40 pieces in news and TV channel "Khabar" produced specialised weekly business-show "Exchange sprint" with record high rating.

"It is not necessary to put under risk own money makin real transactions. The virtual exchange that was created in the framework of the project is an interesting program that models real exchange transactions. It is impossible to win or lose money6 but it is easy to understand the mechanism making transactions via internet, understand the specifics of the share market and join the exchange community",- marked Arken Arystanov the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on regulation of activities of the regional financial centre of Almaty city.

According to his words the game encourages increasing of financial literacy and investment culture of the population of our country. Prizes and congratulations were received on August 22, 2008 in Astana.
