Research on financial literacy and investment culture of population

There was conducted a research on financial literacy and investment culture of population in the framework of the Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Enhancement of Investment Culture and Financial Literacy of Population for 2007-2011.

The object of the investigation - mass audience (adults, individuals - real or potential investors). There was also conducted investigation among pupils of two schools in Almaty. 

The tasks of the investigation:

• to define the level of awareness about financial instruments, their facilities and functions;
• to define experience in using financial instruments;
• to define attitude and intentions of population concerning usage of different financial instruments;
• to reveal practice of conducting home accountancy and home finance planning;
• to define optimal channels of formation and support of financial literacy and investment activitiy of population;
• to reveal information and educational needs of population
